Council increases mill rate in Budget

The City of St. John's delivered the 2022 budget on Monday.

Council approved a .6 mill increase for residential properties and a .8 mill increase for commercial properties. The City maintains that most property owners will see no increase in their taxes or a small increase.

Water taxes will increase by $5 per unit, from $620 in 2021 to $625 in 2022.

The City budget is balanced at $319,603,486 while the deficit is projected at $13 million.
