Former Conservative MP Chris d’Entremont, who is the member of Parliament for Acadie-Annapolis in Nova Scotia, has left the Conservative Caucus and joined the Liberal Party.
In a statement, d’Entremont said in part, "Earlier this afternoon, upon the presentation of the 2025 Budget, I informed the Leader of the Opposition, the Opposition House Leader, and the Speaker of the House of Commons that I had resigned from the Conservative caucus. There is a better path forward for our country — and a better path forward for Acadie-Annapolis."
d'Entremont has represented Acadie-Annapolis, previously known as West Nova, in the House of Commons since 2019. Before entering federal politics, he represented Argyle-Barrington in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 2003 to 2019 as a member of the Nova Scotia Progressive Conservatives.
