The Montreal Canadiens have been eliminated from the NHL playoffs.

In game five against the Washington Capitals, the Canadiens lost by a score of 4 to 1 in the Eastern Conference First Round.

Montreal only scored once in the third period. The Capitals took two goals in the first period, one in the second, and one in the third.
