Newfound News is a growing digital news platform delivering local coverage across Newfoundland and Labrador. As we expand, we’re looking for a motivated Media Account Executive to help grow our advertising and sponsorship revenue.

About the Role

This is a sales-focused role where you’ll be responsible for finding, pitching, and closing advertising opportunities with local businesses. You’ll play a key role in helping businesses reach our audience while driving revenue for a fast-growing digital news outlet.

This position is freelance/commission-based, ideal for someone who is self-driven and comfortable working independently.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and reach out to potential advertisers and sponsors

• Build relationships with local businesses and organizations

• Pitch digital advertising opportunities on Newfound News

• Create and present simple ad packages and proposals

• Manage client accounts and ensure customer satisfaction

• Work with our team to execute campaigns and sponsored content

Qualifications

• Experience in sales, marketing, or business development (preferred)

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Self-motivated and results-driven

• Comfortable reaching out to new clients (cold calls, emails, in-person)

• Ability to work independently and manage your own pipeline

Assets (Not Required)

• Experience in media or advertising sales

• Knowledge of digital advertising (display ads, sponsored content, etc.)

• Existing connections with local businesses

Compensation

• Commission-based pay structure
