Two firefighters from NL to attend Fallen Firefighter Memorial

Two wildland fire specialists from this province will be representing Newfoundland and Labrador at the 2023 Fallen Firefighter Memorial taking place today in Ottawa.

Wildland Fire Training Specialist Stephanie Pinksen, based in Corner Brook, and Forest Fire Protection Supervisor Tom Burry, based in Gander, will be participating in the annual ceremony.

Pinksen has been selected by the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation to be one of four wildland firefighting personnel to be a part of the Headdress Party that will present helmets to the families of fallen firefighters.

The Canadian Fire Service’s Fallen Firefighter Memorial brings together fire service personnel in Canada, firefighters from across the country, government representatives, families and friends to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
