Trudeau planning to call election Sunday sources say

Sources with Reuters say that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is planning to call an election as early as Sunday.

Election day would be on September 20.

Trudeau only has a minority government and would be looking to regain the majority status he had prior to the last election.

The Liberals currently have 155 seats, the Conservative Party has 119, the NDP trails at 24, the Bloc Québécois has 32 seats followed by 5 independent members and 2 Green Party MP's.

In the last election, the Liberals only received 33.12 percent of the vote.
