Tim Hortons to Test Returnable Cups & Packaging

In an effort to reduce waste, Tim Hortons will be testing a deposit program for returnable coffee cups and packaging.

The coffee chain will test the program beginning next year at some Toronto locations.

When the reusable containers are returned, they will be cleaned, sanitized and reused.

Customers will pay a deposit and receive their order in reusable, returnable packaging.

Tim Hortons is Canada's largest quick-service restaurant chain, with 4,846 restaurants in 14 countries, by December 31, 2018.
