Three people convicted of poaching on Bay de Verde Peninsula
Three people have been convicted related to poaching on the Bay de Verde Peninsula.
Cory Tizzard and Nicholas Morgan, both of Winterton and Mason Harrington of New Perlican were convicted earlier this year for unlawfully fishing for salmon.
The individuals were apprehended in New Perlican on August 26.
Each individual received a $1,500 fine and is prohibited from participating in recreational fisheries for a period of one year. In addition, items seized during the investigation have been forfeited to the Crown and include an 80-foot gill net, a fish tray, a blanket and a quantity of rope.
