Storm expected for NL on Thursday
An area of low pressure will approach Newfoundland from the south on Thursday bringing rain, snow, mixed precipitation, and gusty winds to the province.
Snow will push into Newfoundland on Wednesday night. Snow will change to ice pellets or freezing rain for the Burin Peninsula through to Clarenville to Gander. Areas west of that line will likely remain as snow. The Avalon Peninsula will see snow changing from ice pellets to rain.
Snow is expected across Labrador.
On Thursday wind gusts in Newfoundland could reach 100 km/h. Along the southwest coast, gusts to 120 km/h are possible.
It's still a bit too early to discuss precipitation amounts.
