St. John’s the official host of the 2025 Canada Summer Games


St. John’s has been named the official host of the 2025 Canada Summer Games.


The Canada Games attracts thousands of athletes.


The Province previously hosted the Canada Winter Games in Corner Brook in 1999 and the Canada Summer Games in St. John’s in 1977.


The 2021 Canada Summer Games were scheduled to be held in Niagara Region, Ontario from August 6 to 21, 2021 In September 2020, the Canada Games Council announced that the 2021 Canada Summer Games had been postponed to 2022 as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.


The Canada Games is a multi-sport event held every two years, alternating between the Canada Winter Games and the Canada Summer Games. They represent the highest level of national competition for up-and-coming Canadian athletes. The Games have been hosted in every province at least once since their inception in Quebec City during Canada’s Centennial in 1967.
