Sheshatshiu Woman Arrested After Putting Truck in a Ditch

A 37-year-old Sheshatshiu woman, who provided breath samples that were nearly four times the legal limit, faces charges of impaired driving after she drove a truck in a ditch on December 11.

Shortly before 6:00 p.m., police received the report and attended the scene. The driver, who was observed by a passerby walking away from the truck, was located a short distance away and was found to be intoxicated.

The woman was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment where she provided the high-levelled breath samples.

Her licence was suspended and the truck was seized and impounded. She spent the night in police custody and was released the next morning.

The woman is set to appear in court to answer to charges of impaired driving at a later date.
