SEA-NL Executive Director Ryan Cleary a Faroese longliner was allowed to return fishing after being accused on six separate occasions within the past year of serious violations.
Between September 2021 and July 2022 the Captain of the ship in question was issued six “notices of infringement” for violations while fishing halibut on the tail of the Grand Banks. All six notices pertain to misreporting of catches.
Cleary says, “that joke is on Newfoundland and Labrador when our fishing industry pays the biggest price for Ottawa’s failure to address decades of foreign overfishing."
Accountability is starting to look Rigged when you start to have a deep look into Rules that are made for some not for all its like not what you know its who know you.
