RNC Police Service Dog Retirement and Swearing-In

On Tuesday Police Service Dog Dali retired as an RNC Canine and Police Service Dog, Seaforce was sworn in with the force.

Dali retired from the RNC due to a career-ending condition, for which she was forced to have surgery in January of this year. Dali was bred and trained through the RCMP’s Police Service Dog Training program. Dali specialized in detecting explosives. She was the first female police dog in the RNC’s history, and she was donated by local businessperson, Jim Hynes.

Dali will now live with Hynes at his home.

Seaforce, who will be assigned to handler Cst. Pat McDonald, is also a female Police Service Dog. Seaforce has been operational with the RNC since April. She will specialize in explosive detection.

Seaforce was donated to the RNC by Barry Hynes and the team at Sea-Force Diving Ltd.
