RNC Investigation Sudden Death at St. John’s Lockup

The RNC is investigating a sudden death that occurred on Friday afternoon at the St. John’s lockup.

Police responded to a call around 2:00 pm on Friday. The man, who was in custody at the time, died.

The man was 48-years-old.

The St. John’s Lockup is operated by the Adult Custody Division. It is a short-term holding unit for the detention of male and female persons remanded to await court appearance. Individuals detained under the Mental Health Act or the Detention Intoxicated Persons Act are also held here.
