RCMP & TSB launch investigation into Polar Prince vessel

The RCMP and the Transportation Safety Board of Canada are both investigating the circumstances that lead to the implosion of the Titan submersible.

The RCMP announced today that it is examining the circumstances that led to the deaths of the five individuals who were aboard the submersible to determine if a full investigation is warranted.

Police say that an investigation will proceed only if the RCMP’s examination of the circumstances indicates criminal, federal or provincial laws may possibly have been broken.

The Transportation Safety Board is launching an investigation into the fatal occurrence. The ship The Polar Prince is a Canadian-flagged vessel.
