The provincial government has established an advisory council tasked with helping get the province to net zero.
The eight-member Council will focus on providing advice to the Provincial Government on how to achieve the 2030 and net-zero targets.
Net zero can be achieved by balancing emissions of carbon dioxide with its removal or by eliminating emissions.
The Council will focus on identifying short and long-term actions the government and others can take to achieve net-zero that would grow the green economy.
The Council will also advise on global trends to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and the importance and use of carbon sinks.
