Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invokes Emergency Act


Prime Minister Justin Trudeau officially announced the implementation of the Emergency Act.


Police will be given extra tools including fines and imprisonment.


Some locations will be deemed "secure and protect locations" such as border crossings and airports.


The military will not be deployed. Peaceful protests and free speech continues to be permitted as does the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.


CBSA is turning people away at the border from the United States who are trying to enter Canada to protest.


All crowdfunding platforms must register with FINTRAC.


All financial institutions must cease all accounts involved in the blockade without a court order.
