Police officer among dead in Ontario shooting

A Toronto Police Officer is dead along with another individual after a shooting in Mississauga Monday afternoon.

Several other people were injured.

Peel Regional Police reported that there was a shooting at Argentia Road and Winston Churchill Boulevard in Mississauga and warned that a suspect was at large and was armed and dangerous.

Shortly after that incident, Halton Police said they were looking for a similar suspect after three people were shot, one fatally.

The suspect was later located and was taken into police custody but Hamilton Police confirmed that one person was pronounced deceased in connection with shooting investigations in Peel and Halton.

The Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate to investigate.
