Police involved shooting in Grand Falls-Windsor

The Newfoundland and Labrador Serious Incident Response Team SIRT are investigating an officer involved fatal shooting in Grand Falls-Windsor.

Little information was made available including the number of people involved and the circumstances surrounding the incident.

RCMP notified the SIRT early this morning.

The Serious Incident Response Team is a civilian-led police oversight agency responsible for conducting investigations into incidents involving death, serious injury, sexual offence, domestic violence or any matter of significant public interest that may have arisen from the actions of a police officer in the province.
