Ontario prepares to enter another shutdown

Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced on Thursday that Ontario will enter a four-week, province-wide COVID-19 shutdown as of Saturday.

The announcement comes as Ontario battles a third wave of COVID-19.

Variants of concern are spreading rapidly in the province.

When the shutdown takes effect, personal care services and gyms will be closed. Retail stores that are considered essential will operate at a 50 percent capacity limit, while other retail businesses, including big box stores, can operate at 25 percent capacity.
