NLESD sets record straight on false claims on social media
The Newfoundland and Labrador English School District is setting the record straight after fielding several questions resulting from social media posts making claims about students and individuals who identify as cats and or animals.
The NLESD says that posts claiming that schools are placing litter boxes in their buildings are completely false and are causing undue stress on the school communities.
Children in schools express themselves in many ways, but the district says that these rumours appear to be rooted in hate and, in general, are attempts by some to further marginalize already marginalized groups.
