New Name for the Mary March Provincial Museum

The Rooms has announced a new name for the Mary March Provincial Museum in Grand Falls-Windsor.

The museum will be renamed the Demasduit Regional Museum.

Established in the 1970s, there was interest in renaming the museum and a group comprised of representatives from Indigenous Governments and Organizations, councillors from the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor, a representative from the Grand Falls-Windsor Heritage Society, and two representatives from The Rooms worked to find an appropriate name.

Two suggested options were identified – Demasduit Regional Museum and Demasduit Regional Interpretation Centre.
