New Four-Bag Limit Proposed in St. John's

The City of St. John's is proposing new regulations that include a new four-bag limit on the number of garbage bags that residents without automated carts can put at the curb.

There will be an awareness campaign around the implementation date and the City will allow a transition period for residents to get used to the new four-bag limit, similar to when households were provided automated carts.

The City added that automated carts that are currently in place hold four regular-sized garbage bags. Once the new regulations are implemented residents without the cart will have the same four-bag limit.

The actual start date of the four-bag limit is not yet final.
