NAPE Members Hold Protest on Ambulance Shortages

NAPE/Facebook

On Friday NAPE members held a demonstration in St. John's to protest the lack of ambulance coverage for the region.

NAPE is calling on the provincial government and the CEO of Eastern Health to take action to address the critical shortage of on-duty ambulances and paramedic staff.

The union says that there are significant issues relating to dangerous levels of understaffing, including an alarmingly high level of red alerts, offload delays, and an increased risk of burnout and time lost due to physical and mental health injuries.
