Man arrested for impaired driving in St. John's after collision

Shortly after 8:00 on Monday evening, the RNC were called to a motor vehicle accident in the west end of St. John’s.

Responding officers suspected one of the drivers was impaired and conducted a roadside screening test.

The driver of one of the vehicles, a 59-year-old man, was detained for further breath testing which he subsequently failed.

The man was charged with impaired driving, and failing the breathalyzer, and has been released to appear in court at a later date. The man’s vehicle was impounded.

There were no injuries.
