Man arrested after fighting police

Around 9:40 pm on Sunday evening, the RNC observed a wanted 38-year-old male on Anderson Avenue in St. John’s.

As officers approached the male he attempted to flee on a pedal bike. Officers were able to catch up to the individual and once the officers apprehended the male, he continued to fight the police.

The officer was not injured.

The male was arrested on the outstanding warrant and charged with assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and breaching court orders.

He was escorted to the lock-up for court in the morning.
