Man Arrested After Disturbance and Assaulting Officer in Corner Brook

A 31-year-old male was arrested in Corner Brook on Saturday after a disturbance on Broadway.

RNC received a report of a disturbance in the street. On arrival, a male was observed initiating an altercation.

Responding officers advised the male suspect he was being arrested in connection with causing a disturbance. The male did not comply with the responding officers, assaulting an officer before fleeing on foot. The suspect was taken into custody a short time later.

The officer who was assaulted by the suspect was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The man has been charged with causing a disturbance, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.
