Man arrested after attempted armed robbery in Carbonear

A man has been arrested after an attempted robbery at the Shell gas station in Carbonear on Saturday evening.

Police arrested 25-year-old Aaron Green following the incident.

Shortly before 7:30 pm police received the report of an attempted robbery and attended the scene. Green allegedly entered the business, spoke to the cashier and advised that he was going to rob the store.

The cashier in turn informed him that a panic alarm was present and would be activated. Green fled the store on foot, empty-handed.

He was located at a residence a short distance away and was arrested without incident.
