Liberals Increase National Lead #CDNpoli


The latest poll conducted by Abacus Data shows the Liberals are leading nationally.


The governing Liberals are polling at 38 percent support. The Conservatives lag behind 8 points at 30 percent support.


The NDP is at 15 percent. The Bloc Québécois and the Green party trails at 6 percent.


Abacus Data says that this is the largest lead for the Liberals since June and a 4-point gain in about a month. The Liberals lead in every part of the country except the Prairie provinces, where the Conservatives have the upper hand.

Most Canadians say that a plan to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic and a plan for the future of the economy are the two most important issues. Also on the top of people's minds is jobs, climate change, spending and taxation, and improving equality.


In Atlantic Canada, the Liberals have a much larger lead at 41 percent, Conservatives are at 24 percent, the NDP is at 21 percent and the Green party has 9 percent support.


The survey was conducted with 1,664 Canadian adults from November 6 to 12, 2020. The margin of error for a comparable probability-based random sample of the same size is +/- 2.5%, 19 times out of 20.
