Labrador West RNC sees increase in impaired driving

The RNC in western Labrador is reminding the community to celebrate the upcoming holiday season safely and responsibly after noticing an increase in impaired driving.

In less than two weeks police have charged three individuals with operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol.

In one case, there was a two-vehicle collision where officers observed signs of impairment by one of the drivers. In another case, police located a vehicle stuck in a snowbank and after noticing signs of impairment the female driver was brought back to the detachment to provide breath samples. The samples provided were over the legal limit.

Police suspended four peoples drivers licenses and impounded four vehicles.
