Government to recruit nurses from India

The provincial government will be launching a mission to bring in more registered nurses from India.
A team of provincial government officials will depart for southwestern India in the coming weeks with the goal of setting up a recruitment desk in the city of Bengaluru, located in the state of Karnataka.
The team will meet with institutions that graduate nurses who have the academic credentials to qualify for licensure in Canada.
Many nurses in that region receive similar training to what registered nurses receive in this province.
This initiative is the latest in several recruitment activities to deal with the healthcare crisis.
