Government appoints mediator to find a resolution on shrimp fishery


The Provincial Government is providing mediation services to the FFAW and the Association of Seafood Producers in an effort to find a resolution regarding issues surrounding the shrimp fishery.


A mediator with the Labour Relations Division of the Department of Environment and Climate Change has been assigned to facilitate these meetings.


Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister Responsible for Labour Bernard Davis said "I urge the FFAW and ASP to make a determined effort to work with the mediator to address outstanding issues as soon as possible."


Seaward Enterprises Association of Newfoundland and Labrador welcomed the review of the collective bargaining model for fish pricing.
