Funding Now Available for Heritage Maintenance and Conservation

The City of St. John’s is accepting applications for maintenance or conservation funding for those who own a house or commercial property in a Heritage Area or those who own a designated Heritage Building.
There are two types of grants available. The first is a Heritage Maintenance Grant which includes up to 25 per cent of the material and labour costs to a maximum of $1,000 for maintenance and repair to façade elements bordering a public street.
The second is a Heritage Conservation Grant which includes up to 25 per cent of the material and labour costs to a maximum of $5,000 for the preservation, restoration and/or replacement of façade elements bordering a public street.
Applications will be accepted until May 1, 2024.
