St John's | N.L. 2:45 p.m. July 29th

The St John's Regional Fire Department were called to the scene of a Major commercial structure fire at a multi-unit building at around 8:40 a.m. Monday morning.

Firefighters really had their hands full this Monday morning in St. John's as they tackled a significant blaze at a row house on Empire Avenue. The fire was so intense that multiple families were displaced, and neighboring buildings had to be evacuated.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) had to close the main road from Monchy Street to Cairo Street for most of the morning into the afternoon hours as fire crews battled the blaze. It was a real challenge for the firefighters who fought the blaze for hours

The Salvation Army also stepped in to help out, providing support and assistance to all the displaced individuals on the scene. It's heartwarming to see everyone coming together to help those in need during such tough times.
