FFAW says lobster fishery in crisis

Fish harvesters in the province are now facing another crisis in the industry according to the FFAW.

Companies refuse to buy lobster because they claim the formula-calculated price is not to their liking.

The current formula calculation is based on market prices and puts the harvester share at $14.37 per pound. The ASP position at Panel would have put the price at 14.20, 17 cents lower.

The three largest fisheries in the province, snow crab, shrimp and lobster, are now at a standstill across the province.
