Events planned for National Tree Day

Today is National Tree Day.

To celebrate, the City of St. John’s along with students from Larkhall Academy, Tree Canada, the Bowring Park Foundation, Clean St. John’s, Newfoundland Power, and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador will host a tree planting ceremony and BBQ at the Kenmount Terrace Community Centre.

The event gets underway at 11:00 am.

Minister of Digital Government and Service NL Sarah Stoodley will also be in attendance.

National Tree Day takes place during National Forest Week and celebrates the importance of trees in our urban forest.
