Eastern Health implements plan to deal with catheter supply shortage

Eastern Health has implemented a plan to deal with a global epidural catheter supply shortage.

At this time there is a limited stock globally. Vendors are using an allocation model for distribution.

Eastern Health has not experienced an interruption in service due to supply shortages so far.

Guidelines are in place to conserve epidural catheters.

The global supply issue may continue throughout the summer.
