Driver faces charges after traffic stop near Botwood

RCMP officers on patrol near Botwood stopped a 64-year-old man cruising at 128 km/h on Route 350 back on Monday.

The vehicle was driving on the shoulder of the road.

The driver showed signs of alcohol impairment and refused to provide a roadside breath sample.

The man’s licence was suspended, he was ticketed for speeding and the truck was seized and impounded.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to attend court at a later date.
