Driver arrested after being almost two times the legal limit

Around 1:30 am this morning the RNC was alerted to a possible impaired driver on Cabot Street in St. John's.

Officers located the vehicle in question and conducted a traffic stop.

As a result of the investigation, the 49-year-old male driver was charged with impaired driving and over 80 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

Police seized the man's driver’s license and the vehicle was impounded.

The driver was almost two times over the legal limit and spent the night in custody.
