Deer Lake man charged with first-degree murder

The RCMP has arrested 33-year-old Justin Campbell of Deer Lake.

Campbell has been charged with first-degree murder following his arrest yesterday afternoon.

RCMP NL launched an investigation yesterday after a 69-year-old Deer Lake woman was found deceased in her home. The accused is a relative of the victim.

Campbell appeared in court today and was remanded into custody, with his next court appearance scheduled for Monday.
