Cruise ship Ocean Endeavour to visit St. John's today

The cruise ship the Ocean Endeavour will be in port today in St. John's to kick off the cruise ship season.

The Ocean Endeavour has approximately 195 passengers and will be the first cruise ship to visit the city in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the next four months, 30 ships from 15 cruise lines are scheduled to visit St. John's.

All cruise ships are required to abide by all provincial, Public Health Agency of Canada and Transport Canada safety guidelines. All passengers and crew visiting St. John’s must be fully vaccinated. They are also required to show proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 24 to 72 hours of boarding a cruise ship.

The ship was built in 1981 and operated as Konstantin Simonov.
