Contract awarded for concept design work for the replacement of Marystown Harbour Bridge

Harbourside Engineering Consultants has been awarded a contract for the concept design work for the replacement of the Marystown Harbour Bridge.

The contract is valued at $225,545.

The consultants will outline all relevant concept design options, including road layout configurations, hydrological capacities, environmental issues, as well as different types of structures and materials in replacing the existing bridge structure.

This work is expected to be completed by next Spring.

An inspection of the bridge determined that the deterioration of the structure was more significant than anticipated.
