Classes return to virtual setting

Today is back-to-school day for children across the province but due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 cases, back-to-school means back to virtual.

Education Minister Tom Osborne announced last week that students would not be returning to class this week.

While classes are beginning virtual, they will be evaluated on a weekly basis. Osborne says the priority remains to get students back in person as soon as it is safe to do so.

Schools closed two days early before the Christmas break to allow students to bring home any supplies they might need including Chromebook devices while teachers planned to shift to online classes.
