ChillFest kicking off Feb 11 in St. John’s



ChillFest will occur from February 11 to 14 in St. John's.


There will be several outdoor events including:

  • Freez’n Fun Run for all-ages and abilities at Bowring Park. Registration on Eventbrite is required.

  • Ski and Snowshoe rentals at Winter Activity Centre in Pippy Park. Adaptive equipment is available and must be pre-booked at (709) 576-6972 or email inclusion@stjohns.ca.

  • Sweetheart Night at The Loop. Skate with your sweetheart while a DJ is spinning some of your favourite love songs.

  • Heroes’ Family Fun Afternoon at The Loop. Dress up as your favourite hero while skating. There will be special appearances by hero characters.

  • Our holiday light display in Bowring Park has been extended until Feb. 14, perfect for a romantic Valentine’s date night or an outdoor stroll with the family. Then, the light display will be turned off until the holiday season returns in December.


Several new events have been added also:

  • Snow-ga, enjoy outdoor winter yoga classes for all-ages and skill levels in Bowring Park. Registration on Eventbrite is required.

  • General skating at the Mary Brown’s Centre.

  • Winter Scavenger Hunt. Come out to Bowring, Bannerman, or Victoria Park to find five mystery word signs hidden throughout each park to unscramble a phrase. Email the phrase to specialevents@stjohns.ca with Subject Line “Scavenger Hunt” to be entered to win a prize.

A Virtual Kitchen Party with Fergus O’Byrne will take place on The Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Society website.


Free swims for everyone will be held at the Mews Centre. Attendees must sign-up through RECconnect.
