Chief Electoral Officer Calls on Leaders to Agree on Postponing the Election

The Chief Electoral Officer Bruce Chaulk has emailed all party leaders seeking their assistance in postponing the election.

Many staff have refused to work at polling locations due to the recent spike in the number of COVID-19 cases.

He is asking party leaders and the Lieutenant Governor to come up with a solution to postpone the election.

A member of his staff is in isolation awaiting test results.

The election was slated to take place this Saturday and was called last month when case numbers were low.
