Catherine, Princess of Wales has been diagnosed with cancer

Catherine, Princess of Wales has released a statement confirming that she has cancer.

The Princess underwent abdominal surgery in January and since then, speculation has been fuelled as to her condition.

It was thought that her condition was non-cancerous, however, tests after the surgery confirmed that cancer was present. As a result, she was advised to undergo preventative chemotherapy and she is now in the early stages of treatment.

Both the Princess and Prince William have taken time to advise their children of the diagnosis in an appropriate way and to reassure them that she will be okay.
