Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month Begins Today

March is Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month.

Agriculture in the Classroom Newfoundland and Labrador is welcoming agriculture industry professionals into more than 300 Kindergarten to Grade 6 classrooms across Newfoundland and Labrador throughout the month of March to celebrate Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month.

Guests and students will read a new book, “Reggie’s Technology Adventure,” and share stories about the importance of the agriculture sector.

Similar events will be happening in classrooms across the country.

What is Canadian Agriculture Literacy Month?

In 2012, Agriculture in the Classroom-Canada worked collectively on the initiative to declare one week in early March as the Canadian Agriculture Literacy Week. Due to popular demand, this program has now grown to last an entire month.

Students participate in activities to learn about, connect to and understand this important industry.
