Canada’s Premiers meet to discuss health care
Canada’s Premiers met virtually on Friday to discuss the funding shortfall facing the health care systems and create a new health care funding partnership.
British Columbia Premier John Horgan, Chair of the Council of the Federation said, "First Ministers must meet and have a meaningful discussion in order to find a sustainable solution to this situation as soon as possible."
Premiers are calling on the federal government to increase its share of provincial-territorial health care costs through the Canada Health Transfer to 35%.
