Atlantic Premiers request meeting with Prime Minister new fuel regulations

Atlantic Premiers are requesting to meet with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The Premiers are calling for a pause on the implementation of the Clean Fuel Regulations until further analysis can be completed.

The Premiers say that this change, which comes into effect on July 1st, will unfairly burden Atlantic Canadians and is not an effective way to mitigate the impacts of climate change.

After a meeting with the federal Environment Minister, Steven Guilbeault, the Premiers have waited on information from the minister about options to reduce the impact of implementing the Clean Fuel Regulations, the Minister presented no new information or possible solutions to mitigate the impact.
