Amazon Scam Making the Rounds

Just in time for the Christmas season, there is a new scam making the rounds.

In the latest scam, there is an automated call claiming to be from Amazon. In the recording, the voice says that your Amazon Prime Account has been charged a certain amount and to press one to talk to a representative.

The scammer will then try to solicit credit card and other personal information from the victim.

Amazon says "we take fraud, scam, phishing and spoofing attempts seriously. If you receive correspondence that you think may not be from Amazon, please report it immediately."

Report any suspicious phone calls or text messages to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
